School Uniform Sewing Project

Today is the start of a new academic year in Cape Town SA, and I am off to our "A Reaching Hand" Sewing Project at Uitsig Primary School, set up in a classroom at the school. Uitsig is a very very very poor community in Cape Town. The small group of ladies are sewing school shirts for the learners. At the same time we are teaching them a skill as well as creating a job opportunity for these unemployed women. Families in this area struggle to afford to buy school uniforms. My heart breaks for the suffering here every time i go there. Today I am dropping off a fan (no windows here), an iron and an ironing board. You are welcome to contact us If you would like to contribute, be it supplies or funds. It would be very appreciated and certainly will make a difference in these little lives.
