A week ago Ethan met up with Karin Hoole of A Reaching Hand to do a cheque hand over.
For those of you who do not know, Ethan started his fund raising at the beginning of this year and with the help of KidsBoost and his family he reached his goal of $1000. Ethan donated the money to A Reaching Hand NGO.
The money will be used to print the book "Dot and Frank" written by Ethan. The book will be part of a care package that will be handed out to kids in the poor areas of Cape Town, SA.
Ethan's goal is to help kids who live in disadvantaged communities. The care package will consist of the book, colouring pencils, toothbrush and a healthy snack. The bags are being made by our sewing ladies in Scottsdene, as seen in the pictures. They are very thankful to Ethan for creating this job opportunity to help them earn a living that helps them feed their families.
Thank you to everyone, especially his mom Kari and sisters, who helped him to make his dream a reality. Thank you to all who have contributed.
We at A Reaching Hand thank Ethan from the bottom of our hearts. He is such an inspiration!!! Thank you Ethan for your drive, energy, compassion and love for the less fortunate kids in South Africa.
We are planning a launch event with the kids in Khayelitsha closer to the end of October. All the kids will receive a care package. You are going to make many kids very happy! Watch this space!
